The short version

Edge has no ads, no tracking cookies and no cross-site trackers. We count visits with a privacy-friendly tool that doesn't use cookies. You can practice without an account. If you create one, we store only what's needed to run it: your email, your profile and your practice progress.

Without an account

Edge saves your progress in your browser's local storage under the key edge-v2. That includes solved problems, daily results, the days you practiced, ratings, XP and best scores. It stays on your device and isn't sent to us.

With an account

Accounts are run on Supabase, which hosts our login system and database. When you sign up we store:

We use this only to run your account, sync your progress and show the leaderboard. We don't sell it or share it for advertising. If you opt in, your display name, XP, solved count and streak appear on the public leaderboard. Your email never does.

Signing in with Google

If you choose "Continue with Google", Google shares your name, email address and profile picture link with us so we can create your account. We use your name as your starting display name, which you can change. We don't get your Google password or access to anything else in your Google account.

Visitor statistics

We use GoatCounter to count visits, so we know which pages and games people use. It doesn't use cookies or track you across sites. For each page view it records the page, the referring site, your browser, screen size and approximate country. GoatCounter says it doesn't store IP addresses and only keeps a short-lived hash to count unique visits. We can't identify you from these statistics, and we never combine them with your account.

Problem reports and feedback

If you report a problem or send feedback, we store what you wrote, the type of report, the problem it's about, the page you sent it from and the time. If you're signed in, it's linked to your account. If you add an email for a reply, we store that too. We use reports only to fix problems and improve Edge. They aren't public.

If reporting isn't available yet when you send a report, it's kept in your browser and sent automatically later.

Weekly puzzle email

If you subscribe, we store your email address, when you subscribed and where you signed up. We use it only to send the weekly puzzle, never for anything else, and we never sell or share it. Every email includes a way to unsubscribe, or you can contact us to be removed.

Keeping out spam and bots

Signing up, signing in and resetting a password run a quick bot check from Cloudflare Turnstile. It's usually invisible; occasionally it asks you to tick a box. Cloudflare processes technical details from your browser, such as your IP address, to tell people from bots, and doesn't use them for advertising.

To stop the feedback and email forms being flooded, we keep a one-way hash of your IP address and the date for 24 hours each time you send one. We can't turn the hash back into your address, and it's deleted after a day.

Downloading and deleting your data

Cookies and local storage

Edge sets no cookies. It uses local storage for your progress, your theme choice and, if you sign in, your login session. This storage is strictly necessary for features you ask for, so it doesn't require consent. We still tell you about it.

To remove it, clear this site's data in your browser settings.

Children

Edge is for people aged 13 and older. Don't create an account if you're under 13. If we learn that a child under 13 has an account, we'll delete it.

Changes

If we change how we handle data, we'll update this page and the date above before the change takes effect.
